In this tour you may learn everything about Ancient Greece, mythology, politics, justice, women, slavery, theatre, construction, restoration. We will visit the official religious centre of the of the ancient city state of Athens, the Acropolis hill. Descending from the Acropolis the Mars Hill is to be seen, one of the most important hills of Athens. “Areios Pagos” is related to justice, mythology and the history of Paganists and the Christians.
Through the “sokakia” of Plaka, the paved alleys we will reach the heart of the ancient Greek society of the golden age of Greece, the Agora, the “market place”. This is the place where philosophers used to gather. Who are some of the most significant philosophers? What are the main ideas of Greek philosophy? Are they applied today in our everyday life or not? Let’s be inspires by their principles.. We will also find out how Greeks could maintain democracy and were safe from any kind of overthrow of the political system. We will enter a reproduced stoa, an amazing building of the Greeks. The best preserved temple of the antiquity is here, the Temple of Hephaestus. Inside the most scenic district of Plaka, we will reach the New Acropolis Museum, the most visited Museum in Greece. All the original artefacts of the Acropolis and the slopes are exhibited here.
