Cape Sounio is one of the most beautiful areas of Attica. On the way to Sounio you will have the chance to see the attica coast and you will enjoy the island flair of the southernmost part of Attica. This is the area of god Poseidon, the lord of the sea. It is also teh place where according to ancient greek mythology Aigeus awaited to see his son coming from the Labyrinth. This is where Lord Byron wrote his poem about the islands of Greece and Sounio itself.
On this archaeological site of Sounio we will explore an old settlement, the docks of the antiquity and we will enjoy the temple of Poseidon itself. Why did the inhabitants of Sounio have built a temple here? Why is relation of Sounio with Parthenon temple and the Acropolis? In the site we may observe the wildlife of the cape Sounio.
